Characterizing the Drosophila melanogaster lethal(2)denticleless gene in InsP3R background

چکیده
Protein containing WD-repeats participate in a wide range of cellular functions, they are generally involved in regulatory mechanisms concerning chromatin assembly, cell cycle control, signal transduction, RNA processing, apoptosis and vesicular trafficking. lethal(2)denticleless is a recently identified novel class of Protein containing WD-repeats. Bioinformatic analysis has shown conservation of critical functional motifs among the human L2DTL, mouse L2dtl and Drosophila l(2)dtl proteins. The function of l(2)dtl is still under speculation but the studies suggest that L2DTL and PCNA are involved in CDT1 degradation after DNA damage and cell cycle regulation. The gene expression studies have shown that l(2)dtl levels are altered in different condition and even found upregulated in under galactose challenge conditions in human. l(2)dtl was chosen for its potential regulation by InsP3R mediated intracellular Ca 2+ signaling. This study indicates a possible role of l(2)dtl in InsP3R mediated intracellular Ca 2+

Background: Flubendiamide, comparatively a new pesticide designed to eradicate lepidopteran insect pests is known to have low risk to birds, mammals, fish, algae, honey bees, non-target arthropods, earthworms, soil macro- and micro-organisms, non-target plants as well as sewage treatment organisms; however, the risk assessment for aquatic invertebrates from metabolite could not be finalized wit...
متن کاملAconitase and Developmental EndPointsasEarly IndicatorsofCellularToxicity Induced by Xenobiotics in Drosophila Melanogaster
Background: In this study, the toxicity of the different xenobiotics was tested on the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster model system. Methods: Fly larvae were raised on food supplemented with xenobioticsat different concentrations (sodium nitroprusside (0.1-1.5 mM), S-nitrosoglutathione (0.5-4 mM), and potassium ferrocyanide (1 mM)). Emergence of flies, food intake by larvae, and pupation h...
متن کاملConcentration dependent effect of morphine, aspirin, capsaicin and chili pepper hydro alcoholic extract on thermal and chemical pain model in fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster)
Introduction: Pain research using animal models is related to ethical concerns, so invertebrates and insects have been recommended by researchers. In the present study, the nociceptive and antinociceptive effects of capsaicin, aspirin, morphine and chili extract were examined using fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster) as an alternative for rodent pain model. Methods: Stage 3 of larvae and ad...
متن کاملThe inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors.
The inositol (1,4,5)-trisphosphate receptors (InsP3R) are the intracellular calcium (Ca2+) release channels that play a key role in Ca2+ signaling in cells. Three InsP3R isoforms-InsP3R type 1 (InsP3R1), InsP3R type 2 (InsP3R2), and InsP3R type 3 (InsP3R3) are expressed in mammals. A single InsP3R isoform is expressed in Drosophila melanogaster (DmInsP3R) and Caenorhabditis elegans (CeInsP3R). ...
متن کاملIncompatibility between X chromosome factor and pericentric heterochromatic region causes lethality in hybrids between Drosophila melanogaster and its sibling species.
The Dobzhansky-Muller model posits that postzygotic reproductive isolation results from the evolution of incompatible epistatic interactions between species: alleles that function in the genetic background of one species can cause sterility or lethality in the genetic background of another species. Progress in identifying and characterizing factors involved in postzygotic isolation in Drosophil...
